Luckenbach, Texas really does exist!
This tiny Texas ghost town was memorialized by country singers Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson way back in 1977. Since then people from around the globe flock to Luckenbach to take in the western sites from the porch of the combination general store, saloon and post office. Today, it's a Texas institution that draws country music fans far and wide. Visitors converge on Luckenbach's dance hall and enjoy some of country music's best performers.
Check out the link below for concert info or get a fancy t-shirt (like the one Brase is sporting).
By the way... Thanks Mimi for the t-shirt!!!!
Let's go to Luckenbach Texas
With Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin' got us feuding
Like the Hatfields and McCoys
Between Hank William's pain songs
And Newberry's train songs
And blue eyes cryin' in the rain
Out in Luckenbach Texas
There ain't nobody feelin' no pain

My Maternal Grandmother who passed away in the 90's only played country music during her picnics and family gatherings. The old stuff, not today's sorry excuse for Country music. That song about Luckenbach played all of the time on her 8-track player. Thanks for jogging the old memory. Now I'm running to Youtube to go listen to it. m.
