A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down!

Sugar is a big NO NO in our home but bananas make a sweet substitute. Brase's night time feeding has been really difficult this week due to the taste/texture of his rice cereal. He has screamed and protested but tonight was a little different with the addition of bananas. Brase is still not sure about solids but the bananas helped the cereal slide down!

The good news is... Brase is sleeping 8 to 10 hours with a tummy full of solid food. Daddy and Papi are thrilled with this step in the right direction.

On a side note, we have decided to say no to Gerber. We are only using fresh and steamed fruits and vegetables. No preservatives and no jarred baby food for this kid!

Good for you!! If I could do it all over again, I would have definitely said "NO" to Gerber, also, and made my own baby food. I'm glad that little Brase is sleeping good at night. That makes for happy parents!! :)

Contgrats on the no to Gerber. Do you know about Baby Lead Solids or Weaning? This site gives lots of information and you can search for other sites. We did it with our son. We skipped cereal though. http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/babyledweaning.htm
Have fun with foods. A whole new world opens up with food!

Good for you guys. I never gave my four babies that stuff. Try it yourself, it is nasty. You can cook your own rolled oats and put them in the blender and add your fruit. Also a pressure cooker is great for pureed beef or stew. You are good papas. Brase is a lucky boy. - Gypsie
